2018 got off to a flying start, seeing Aroop headline Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Festival in Leysin, his music receiving regular play on BBC radio and a remix for UK legend Zed Bias. These achievements served as a warmup for the summer launch of his label Vive La Musique with an official reissue and reworks of a rare 80s Zouk tune. The Tabala Mouv 12″ became one of the fastest selling records of the year and has been featured by major tastemakers across the scene including BBC Radio 1, Mixmag, DJ Mag, Rush Hour and Phonica, topping Juno Record’s monthly chart after only 2 weeks.
Aroop has performed in 5 continents and over 40 cities, having had residencies in London, Geneva and Tokyo. Like his productions, Aroop’s DJ sets are always a performance full of musicality and style. His position as a global tastemaker is clear with guest mixes for Gilles Peterson’s legendary Worldwide programme, deep house pioneers Freerange Records and broken beat scene leaders CO-OP amongst many others.
